Hazardous Particles

Small, potentially hazardous particles can enter your home from many entry points, settling on all types of surfaces. Larger particles of Soot, Char, and Ash can make their way into your property from your surrounding environment, clothing, and even your pets. These particles might adversely impact your health and contain other particles that may cause damage to your property surfaces.

Fire/Smoke Restoration Tips

If your property experienced fire and smoke damage, it is best to hire a company that specializes in this type of cleanup. A lack of proper cleanup and restoration could make matters worse and put your health at risk.
People with cardiovascular or respiratory issues, including asthma, should not assist in cleaning up ashes and should avoid smoke.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommends that you have “heating, ventilating and air-conditioning units and all duct work professionally cleaned to remove soot, ash and smoke residue.” They further recommend that you change your HVAC filters right away and that you continue to change the filters once a month during the first year after the fire.
